Passionate people are magnetic - electrifying. Find someone that lives their life with gusto and fortitude and you find a passionate person. Why are we drawn to them?
Well, let me paint a word picture: For a long time I lived in the desert, but every chance I got, I would rush to the coast and get my tank filled up on ocean air and the sounds of the waves. I love the magnificence of the white foam crashing against coastal rocks, the birds calling out as they fly overhead, the sea air swirling around me - it is all quite intoxicating and humbling. Life, for me at least, can get put into perspective in a nanosecond at the beach: my problems do not stop the symphony of the waves colliding, like the clashing of cymbals. My heart begins to beat to the same rhythm that the Creator set in motion within the depths of the ocean...
Now, could you imagine rushing to the coast to see wimpy waves? No splendor, no majesty, no power...barely a whimper - more like a trickle. Doesn't move you, does it? Me either.
I am choosing daily to become a passionate person. I want to end each day knowing that I have burned for Christ, and for the people around me - and at the end of my life, at least it can be said that when it came to life, I showed up. That is my goal, trying to live it On Purpose.
