Gimme Some Truth

Is truth a way of life or merely a character trait found in heroes of our past? Are we seekers of truth? Some settle for lies spoken by others and see no great harm in stretching the truth. Those who choose to follow Christ desire to walk in the ways of truth.

“Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth (3 John 2-4 NKJ).”

The Apostles became very close to those they led to the Lord. A parent-child relationship formed and John spoke of the believers as his children. He rejoiced when he received word that they were rooted and grounded in truth. Deception so easily traps us. The Lord waits to take us by the hand and lead us to truth.

I love the analogy of followers as children. It gives such insight into how we are to treat those who are "under" us.
