Omega Bondage
Out on the sea of wind swept waves
Though tattered still she sails.
Her bough has weathered many a storm
Endured the wrath of hail.
From time to time she’s been dry-docked,
Some mending to receive.
Her cargo wails below the deck,
for their babes the mothers grieve.
East to west then back again
To satisfy their greed.
The chains beneath declare the shame
Of all her evil deeds.
What drives a man to possess another?
To strip away his soul.
Instead of claiming them as brothers
Enslaving them the goal.
I question who in bondage lives
The master or his slave?
Freedom must reign in the heart
This gift our Savior gave.
Someday all peoples will be one
When Jesus comes to claim.
Those who’ve learned to walk in love
United--then the same.
Jaw 2010.
