Two small numbers written down
Upon our hearts evermore
One Tuesday morn of renown
The day the towers fell down
And changed the things known before
The day the Pentagon got
An awful murderous blow
The day, securing a plot
Brave people vowed they would not
Allow their plane to cause woe
Three thousand dead – in its grief
Our nation turned toward heaven
In God they put their belief
If this return should be brief
Remember nine eleven
