It was a night unlike any when the agony of the cross took on a dubious outlook
Leading to Golgotha. It held a fear that the Savior of the world encountered, thankfully never to endure again. A night of the unknown for twelve disciples not understanding the reality to come.
“ My Father this is to unbearable please take this moment from me” Jesus found himself speaking out with fear during the night of the unknown. Satan’s number one
tactic in the Savior’s life was fear.
The night in question held an evening of glee for the hordes of hell as they secretly danced around the King of Kings. Think about his majesty, think about his supremacy.
I can hear Satan screeching at my Savior, “Christ, you won’t make it to the cross.” “Your Father has abandoned you. Give up the cause of redemption, you won’t make it.” “I win.”
“You thought you won in the wilderness but as always I only left for a season.” “This night will not disappear unless you relinquish your authority“.
“There are souls that are mine, regardless of the cross, there will always be those who are lost.” “Give it up Christ, give it up“.
For a time the creator of the universe who said” I beheld Satan as lighting fall from Heaven” allowed the enemy to taunt him. His love is immeasurable for the human race even those who reject him. Fear held on but Faith regained its place in our Savior’s heart.
Fear is an emotional entity that latches on a person unexpectedly. It is a fear that can only be released by the authority of Jesus Christ. It can only to be described as a diabolic force of the wicked one.
The night of the unknown held separate emotions for the twelve. Judas betrayed him for reasons we may never know, only what the scriptures tell. Did he really know Christ would be handed over to the authority to be condemned?
Peter experienced fear first hand partly because he lost his faith in the Messiah. Only to succumb to denial. The disciples lived their life for him and even though he revealed the events to come, fear latched on.
The night in question was a moment the enemy waited for. He knew the crucifixion would take place. He had perfect timing in the possession of Judas. Knowing the event in the Garden of Gethsemane had arrived he guided him to where our Lord would be.
We as his children can rejoice knowing the night of the unknown will be tucked a way in the corridors of history . Satan will be unable to bring his fury on the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.
When the thousand years end and he is loosed from captivity we will see his demise. A glorious day await the faithful as the Lord returns in the final war of the worlds.
