Have you ever confessed a sin to a pastor, friend or family member and they didn't make you feel worst then you had beforehand? I certainly have! I've done this several times with a good friend whom I consider to be my sister (not only through Christ but as if she and I we're actually born from the same parents) and she's never given me the reaction that I felt was appropriate (I was certain that she would fuss at me and make me feel even worst).
Do you know why she didn't/doesn't fuss at me or why they don't fuss at you? Well it's probably because they fully understand the concept of Galatians 6:1 NIV, which reads-if someone is caught in a sin, you who are spiritual should RESTORE THEM GENTLY. Restore them gently, can you imagine how much training one must go through to get to that point?
Perhaps that is why God has instructed us not to judge others (Matthew 7:1&2 NIV) and to remove the things that are clearly wrong in our lives before we tell others to remove their shortcomings (Matthew 7:3 NIV) to help us to get a point of restoring gently. Give that one some thought and ask yourself this-how can I comfort someone else if I'm quick to point out the things that they've done wrong? You can't!
So don't fuss at them when they've fallen short of the glory (Romans 3:23 NIV) because they didn't judge you when you fail.
