Author requests article critique

Seeing, But Understanding Not

Lord there are so many, many things
that I can’t begin to understand
Of the things and ways you’ve created
that spike the curiosity of man

Why some babies are born in poverty
while others are born in wealth
Why an innocent child must suffer
yet others have perfect health

Why the sun must rise up in the east
then gently slide to the west
Why so many suffer pain and misery
and others are constantly blessed

Why you place special people in our life
and then take them away
Why some may never get closer to you
no matter how much they pray

Why you choose just certain people
to invite into your kingdom
While others die, lost
never knowing, salvation’s freedom

Why did you choose me, precious Lord
out of millions walking this earth
When there are so many lost souls
desperately needing a new birth

I know we’re not suppose to question
nor doubt the things you do
We’re to trust fully in your guidance
as being the children of you

I’ll carry all my questions in my heart
knowing one day you will explain
Then we will understand it all
when we reach your heavenly domain

Yes, I know we all have questions WHY this and why that. But we have to let go and let God have His way. Thanks for sharing your heart questions with all of us...God's blessings...Helen

Hello Bessie, Lots of honest questions to ponder. The tone of this poem reminds me of one I wrote years ago called, Believest Thou in Me. There are many verses that address this problem. One is in Deuteronomy 29:29. It says the secret things belong to the Lord. I find peace in that. I don't have to know everything! That's comforting. God Bless you Bessie.
