He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved (Psa. 62:2).
I do not need to get emotionally stirred up in troubles for He is my Rock and my Defense. He says, "Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity" (Psalm 64:2) He will hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked.
My hope lies in the Lord and His Word. As He says, "Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word" ((Psa. 119:114). He hides me and shields me.
When visible and invisible enemies attack me, my Lord will hide me from them. I will flee unto Him for my help. "Deliver me, O LORD, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me" (Psa. 143:9).
We may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me" (Heb. 13:6). In His death and resurrection He destroyed the devil who has the power of death. "Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil" (Heb. 2:14).
Jesus set me free. He will "deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage...Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free...If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed" (Heb. 2:15: John 8:32, 36). He cast the demons into the sea (Mark 5:12-13). I have nothing to fear.
My Lord hides me from the tornados, hurricanes, and the tempest. He gives me living waters in the barren place in my life. "A man shall be as an hiding place from the wind, and a covert from the tempest; as rivers of water in a dry place, as the shadow of a great rock in a weary land". He is the Great Rock who shadows me from the heat when I become weary.
"Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings" (Psa. 17:8). As a mother bird hovers over her brood, He hides me under the shadow of His comforting and protecting wings.
In times of trouble He hides me in His pavillion. "For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock" (Psa. 27:5).
He hides me in His secret dwelling place. “Hide not thy face far from me; put not thy servant away in anger: thou hast been my help; leave me not, neither forsake me, O God of my salvation. ...Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD” (Psa. 27:9, 14). He helps me and strengthens my heart when I am about to faint.
"Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues" (Psa. 31:20). He hides me from pride and strife.
When troubles come, He keeps me. “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance” (Psa. 32:7). He gives me songs of deliverance.
