I got a glimpse of heaven
Right here on earth.
When the Word was being proclaimed
I felt my heart burning within me.
As the Chalice was raised in offering
I surrendered myself as well.
When the Choir sang in exultation
“Holy, Holy is the Lord”
I felt the invisible halo
Of the Angels around the throne,
Cherubim & Seraphim chanting in praise.
When the Bread and Wine was transformed
Into a living sacrifice
Calvary came alive on the altar.
When I closed my eyes to the soft tunes
Of the “Our Father”
I knew I was standing in the Holy of Holies.
When I received our Lord
In Communion to the rendition of
“His love is holding you
His grace will see you through.”
I knew Heaven was already in my heart.
