Can someone tell me when I grew so old?
The carriage ride of life went oh, so fast.
My youthful hopes, my dreams have grown cold...
can someone tell me when I grew so old?
With pen in hand the stories must be told
before the carriage robs me of my past
where memories are stored like treasured gold.
Can someone tell me when I grew so old?
Treasures such as these are hard to hold
and the carriage ride of life moves oh, so fast.
There is little time for memories to unfold...
Can someone tell me when I grew so old?

Hi Gerald. Thank you very much for your encouraging words. That means so much coming from someone who’s done puppets for so long. I never write skits for puppets, this was just “inspiration” or something like that while I was in the shower. (The water must do something to my brain)
I agree with Patsy on this. You’re only as old as you feel and you don’t talk like an old person. The message makes me sad but I guess it’s a good reminder to spend your time wisely, enjoy every day you have, and remember that there’s plenty to do when you’re older. Interesting ryhyme pattern here (ABAA). Do you think it would sound better as ABAB or ABCB? Just a thought. I’ll have to read more or you work later. God bless!
