A Silent Prayer

In the silence of the night
God will hear the silent prayer
In our weakest state he strengthens us
to prove that he's still there

The still quiet spirit will move him
the heavy hearts, he makes light
And the soul that's sad he fills with joy
in the darkness of the night

God will lift us up in those hours
and give grace, the whole night through
So we can face our tomorrow's
this is what the silent prayer can do

He promised our needs to supply
rather they be great or small
For God's ears can hear, the quietest prayer
and will attend to the silent call

There be times we can't even say one word
and other times a few at best
But, thank God for being such a caring father
that comes by and give us rest
