Blacks in the Bible: Simon, the Cyrene
From Matthew 27: 31-32 the Holy Bible reads that
the Roman soldiers of Governor Pilate "led Him
away to be crucified. Now as they came out, they
found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. Him they
compelled to bear his cross."
From the pages of the Bible we read about the greatness of black men and women.
Simon was a black man who was forced to carry
the cross of the Christ, Jesus, who was the son
of the living god. He carried the cross up to
Golgotha, Place of the Skull where
unrighteous men tortured and
killed our Lord and Saviour of the world.
We are a strong people! We are a great people!
Never forget who you are and to whom you belong!
