A dusty book sits in the corner,
tattered pages, worn and thin.
Each chapter must sadly end,
before a new one can begin.

Inside belongs a story,
to a soldier who fought so brave.
This saga tells of battles lost,
not victories taken to the grave.

The enemy was the demon,
who never gave up the chase.
The sting of its discomfort,
was etched on the soldiers face.

The demon grew more mighty,
and knew just where to look.
The anguish and the suffering,
are found deep inside this book.

The soldier begins to run,
but had nowhere else to go.
The demon take its victim,
and the solider takes the blow.

This story is about a loved one,
who once battled drugs and pills.
Fighting against the powers,
of a soldier and a demon's will.

Each chapter is a reminder,
that when we see this war within.
Our soldier's need God's strength,
for without it - the demon wins.
