How do you measure love? Can it be purchased or only received? Do you remember your mother’s songs of tenderness and affection? Mom often sang to me and a catchy chorus still rings in my memory. I love you a bushel and a peck, a bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck! That’s a heap of love. It is pushed down, leveled off, and over-flowing.
God believes in honesty at the market place. “Dishonest scales are an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight (Proverbs 11:1 NKJ).” If a harvest is sold by the bushel or peck God is peering over the merchant’s shoulder. He does not want the buyer to be short-changed. People need an abundance of love. Pour out your heart. Store it in bushel and peck baskets and be ready to meet the needs of hungry hearts.
