God's Peace
Your peace reigns
in autumn.
The extravagant color
of green hills and trees
and sharp, blue mountains
fading into
sunbleached
browns,oranges
and haze.
The wild storms,
skies filled with
flashes of lightning,
claps of thunder
rolling over the hills,
simmers down.
Replaced
by lazy, floating clouds.
The long grass
pink crowns gently swaying
accepts
the cool carress of an autum breeze.
Huge brown butterflies
everywhere
flapping wings
waving a farewell
to the summer.
