Calvary’s Return
O Calvary, Calvary, where have you gone?
From the hearts of so many, it seems you’ve been torn.
Where once stood a cross, stained with blood so forlorn,
Now we boast how we’ve prospered, by seed-faith well sown.
O Calvary, Calvary, have we shrouded your presence
With seeker friendly gimmicks, and a watered down message?
We once bowed at your feet, in repentance and shame,
Shedding sin and our guilt as we called on His Name.
O Calvary, Calvary, we cry out to you now,
Restore to your people, Godly sorrow this hour.
So seldom we hear of your old rugged tree,
Where God’s Son gave His life, to set all sinners free.
O Calvary, Calvary, forgive us, we now pray,
May we never forget, the role that you played.
Your story must be carried, from Father to Son,
From every Mother to Daughter, until life here is done.
O Calvary, Calvary, we remember this day,
To give thanks to the One, whose blood you embraced.
We will take you to the north, the south, east and west,
From the dawn of every morning, until the evening sun sets.
O Calvary, Calvary, return, come this day,
Reminding your people, there’s but one narrow way.
No four-lane highways, or short cuts to take,
No walls to climb over, no backdoor escape.
O Calvary, Calvary, your example we follow,
To bear our cross daily, through pain and through sorrow.
To face all of life's heartaches, struggles and trials,
Knowing there’s a friend right beside us, each step, every mile.
O Calvary, Calvary, are we willing to hear,
The list of unborn being murdered, growing each year.
More addictions and vices, daily unfold,
Destroying the lives of both the young and the old.
O Calvary, Calvary, there’s no more time to waste,
For the day’s fast approaching, when our judge we must face.
Your blood still cries out, I have come to redeem
Oh Sinner, Oh Saint, come to Calvary’s stream.
