When I first began noticing road signs, the ones which read “Detour” made me cringe. That was especially so when I first began to drive. In my mind there was only one way to get from point “A” to point “B”. To even suggest a “detour” was a frightening thing to me in my inexperience.
Eventually I learned that the people who mapped out the roads and the routes had a reason for posting their signs and it was certainly in my best interest to trust in their expertise. They were knowledgeable, experienced and concerned about the welfare of the public who traveled their roads.
WOW, just think about that! If those road workers are concerned about our welfare; how much more is our Heavenly Father concerned about us? (That sounds scriptural too, doesn’t it?) Dear one, consider this…what may look like an unnecessary “detour” to you; what may look like a disruption of your plans, may well be God’s Divine Intervention for your good.
“Father, Help me trust in Your purpose for my life. Even when things look bad, you will turn it to my good. Amen”
