He Came To His Own – First!

There is a remarkable story found in the Bible that many of us, including yours truly, must have skipped over.

It is our teaching, as born-again believers, that Jesus came to the earth to die for the sins of mankind…all mankind, and that is true. Note that I avoided the term “Christian” or “followers of the teachings of Christ” because there are too many groups calling themselves “Christians”…including the so-called Christian Militia group that made it into the recent headlines. They no more represent the teachings of Christ than any other radical extremist group.

That said, it appears that Jesus’ duty, given to Him by God, was to go to His own Jewish people and win them back to God, and to teach them what God had given Him to teach.

We find that story in the Book of Matthew, Chapter 15 and verses 21-28.

“Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon. A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, "Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is suffering terribly from demon-possession."

Here, a non-Jewish woman from Cannan approached Jesus because she knew two things: First, she acknowledged that He was the “son of David”….therefore, she acknowledged that He is the Messiah of the Jews.

The second thing this non-Jewish woman acknowledged, was that Jesus could heal her son who was demon possessed. I also want you to know that demon possession did not disappear when Jesus arrived on the earth.

Satan’s demons possess anyone who is not a born-again believer. Satan cannot possess a believer because God’s Holy Spirit dwells within the believer. Jesus pointed out, in the Scriptures, that the devil and the Holy Spirit cannot occupy the same place….it is impossible.

Just a word of caution, however. I have witnessed where demons have possessed those who leave themselves wide open to possession. One boy, age eleven at the time, played the Ouija board…and he was an invited guest into our home. During his stay there, and it was but for a short time, all kinds of “weird things happened”.

My daughter claimed that she saw her dresser drawers being emptied when no one else was in the room at night. She complained of thing being hurled off the top of a bureau. In my own personal situation, I recall lying in bed one evening, and a “presence” crawled on top of my blankets. It felt like a pressure of sorts. I could not move a muscle. I suspected that it was evil, so I began to sing hymns about Jesus…and it left me.

Just to let you know...that same boy shot a man when he was 13 and is still in prison!

To this day, when I feel an “oppression” near me, I know that Satan’s imps are near, so I invoke the name of Jesus or sing hymns with the name of Jesus in them, and he disappears.

I was in a house one time, and felt “creeped out” every time I went upstairs to the bedroom area. I felt as though I was not alone. I sometime felt a cold chill in a particular room. One day, the next door neighbor told me that the previous tenant in that house was into witchcraft, and a girl died of an overdose of drugs (another gateway for Satan’s imps to enter the body), so that pretty much cleared up the reason that I was feeling “creeped out” in that house.

But, let’s get back to this non-Jewish, Canaanite woman…..

Verse 23 - “Jesus did not answer a word.” Have you ever felt like God was not listening to your prayer requests…somewhat like this Canaanite woman?

“So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us."

The apostles that Jesus hand-picked, discouraged this woman. “Don’t bother us” might have been their attitude. Every apostle and Jesus was a Jew. The apostles, particularly Peter, didn’t associate with non-Jews…until later.

Verse 24 – Jesus answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel."

Did you read that key verse? Jesus divulged to His apostles that He was sent (by His Father, God) only to the lost people of Israel…He was sent to get the Jewish people to turn back to God and to accept Him as their Messiah. That was His original purpose for being in that place and at that time.

God, of course, knows everything, and knew that the nation of Israel would reject His Son, and He knew “from the foundations of the earth” that all of mankind would need a Savior…and that is why God sent His Son to the earth…to die on the cross for the sins of ALL mankind…Jew and Gentile….but it was interesting to find that disclosure in this section of the Bible. I had not paid attention to it before.

Let’s look at the original King James Version of verse 24: “But Jesus answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

So, no matter how we look at it, or which version of the Bible we study, the result is the same….Jesus was sent to reach the lost people of the nation of Israel.

Now, and before we discover the end of the story…and whether Jesus answered this non-Jewish woman’s prayer, let’s go back to the Word of God to discover something related.

1 John 1:1-2 –“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. “

Here, we learn that in the beginning, and we all know that there was no beginning of God, but it implies that the WORD was always with God…and, in fact, WAS GOD.

Verse 14 of 1 John clarifies who the WORD is that always was. Verse 2 above states that the WORD WAS GOD. Verse 14 tells us, “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”

So now we know that this same God of the Book of Genesis (the same in the Jewish Torah and the Islamic Koran) told the people of the earth, “Let US make man in OUR image.” Throughout the Old Testament, God refers to Himself as God the Father, God the Holy Spirit…and God the Son.

John gives born-again believers a clear definition of this Son of God when he reports that, “The WORD became flesh and dwelt among us.” God is the WORD…and one part of the trinity of God (father, Son and Holy Spirit) became flesh in the form of the Son, Jesus…and came to dwell among us, and particularly among His own people But they received Him not.

John, the beloved apostle of Christ, points that out in 1 John 1:11 –“He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”

The GOOD NEWS (which is the Gospel of Christ) is that, once Jesus was not received by His own fellow Jews as the Messiah, He was free to then open salvation up to anyone on the planet for all time – until the end of days (which I believe we are now in).

Everyone…Jew and non-Jew, can receive Christ as their Savior and Lord…and to those who receive and believe…He gives them the power and the right to become the sons and daughters of God…joint heirs of His kingdom with Him.

John 1:12 –“But as many as received Jesus, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”

Anyone can receive Jesus if they choose to. Choice gets us into heaven…or hell….it’s all YOUR CHOICE and mine. Now, we can go back to see what happened to this poor non-Jewish Canaanite woman………..

Matthew 15:25 –“The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. 26He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to their dogs."

Back in the day, the Jews viewed non-Jews as dogs…not worthy of God. Most non-Jews, if not all, were pagan idol worshippers…just a fact.

Verse 27 -"Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters' table."

Here, this non-Jewish woman still asked that her prayer be listened to and dealt with. She acknowledged that Jesus was the Master. “Even a crumb from you, my Master and Lord, will suffice and will answer my prayer.”

Verse 28 –“Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

Two things were accomplished at that very moment…both in the life of Jesus…and in the non-Jewish woman: Jesus acknowledged that the faith and belief in Him as Messiah was all that was needed….to the Jew or the non-Jew, and…that all who believe and receive Him as Lord of their life (Master if you will), SHALL receive the full blessings of heaven, and all that God offers to those who choose, by faith, to believe.

Jesus told the world,” In John 6:40 –“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

Choices….Jew or non-Jew….What will you choose today? Will you continue to believe the lie that the devil still tells people? His first lie to Eve…way back in the Garden of Eden…Genesis 3:7 was, “Are you going to believe what God told you…or are you going to believe what I told you?” The story is the same in the Jewish Torah or the Muslim Koran, so there is no excuse when we all face God…and we will face Him.

God will remind all of us that He said, “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,” – Titus 2:11…so, there is no excuse that “We just didn’t know”.

Choices….Jew or non-Jew. As we approach the end of the generation wherein Jesus told us, “This generation (43 years) shall not pass away until all Scripture is fulfilled”…and, in my educated opinion, that generation began in 1967 at the end of the 6-Day War between Israel and the Arabs. “When Israel (the fig tree) begins to blossom….this generation shall start. Luke 21:29-32 43 years from 1967 begins in 2010 if I am correct in interpretation.

What SHALL unfold, and you can feel it in your bones now…Jew or non-Jew, is that a seven-year period of “Tribulation” will be upon us soon.

A Global Government will be sought after. It is happening right now. A single currency will be sought after. “The U.N. calls for a single currency” was the Fox News headline on September 21, 2009. A temple will be built upon the Holy Mountain of Jerusalem – called Mount Zion. A host of things are now unfolding, and will gain momentum….all leading into God’s plans to bring this whole thing to a close.

Men and women in power (Progressives) today think they are in control. They are manipulating things into position to allow them to rule the word’s population because they think the “people” are stupid, and they are superior, intelligent beings….they are gods unto themselves. They do not need or want God in their society….or yours.

The joke is on them, folks….because it is God who is manipulating THEM into doing what they are doing.

The end will be that believers (choice) will be taken out of this world by that Messiah (I think around 2015 mid-summer), and that will be mid-tribulation. The Bible foretold of all that is to come. The details can be found at one of my websites… www.MountZionTemple.com, but suffice it to say…YOU know that something is in the air, and you cannot identify what it is.

Glenn Beck has the Progressives figures out – to a tee, but he is only 90% correct. He is missing the WHY. They WHY ties the headlines of today to Biblical prophesy from the time of Daniel to the time of John who wrote the Book of the Revelation.

Jesus told the people of the planet that nobody knows the day or the hour that the end will come….BUT….”we shall know the season.”

In case you are not happy with Luke’s account of what Jesus said, let’s let Matthew’s record tell you: “Matthew 24:32 –34 –“Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh…So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.”

Israel did not own East and West Jerusalem until 1967. The fig tree is the symbol of Israel…all of Israel.

We will know the SEASON of the end times, and they are elaborated upon in Matthew 14, so take the opportunity to read the entire chapter.

Does that sound like now? Has the Gospel of Christ been preached throughout the earth? Yes. Is the global government capable of marking (implanting a microchip in the right hand or forehead) of every human on the planet right now? Yes. Is the world calling for a one-world or “global” government right now? Yes. Are those in power calling for a single currency? Yes. Has a temple been built on Mount Zion yet? NO.

That shall happen, in my educated opinion, as soon as Israel is goaded into a preemptive strike against Iran. Ahmadinejad's purpose on this planet is to goad Israel into a confrontation. Get all the detailsin one of my books - America's Two Holy Wars if you like.

Then, they will have the one-time opportunity to throw all Arabs out of Israel. At that point, they shall begin to build the temple that was destroyed in 70 A.D….just as the same Bible predicated thousands of years earlier.

Choices……..Will you believe…or will you hang your eternity on what some cleric told you? It is YOUR DUTY to pray…and ask God to show you the truth. Whether Jew or non-Jew…and, as in the case of the Canaanite woman….Jesus will answer that prayer if you are sincerely seeking the truth.

I’m rooting for you!
