We live in a world where it seems there's an abundance of hurt and suffering. It's not targeted at one race or gender, it equally dishes out an allocation of pain. What sense does this make?
Hurt and Healing
How would you know you need healing if you didn't have hurt first?
Have you ever evaluated what you do? By this I mean when someone cuts you off on the highway while driving, is your natural reaction to curse them or forgive them?
If someone gets angry with you, is your response to get angry back, or do you turn the other cheek?
The point is we get into habits which become routine, often acceptable in the eyes of the world. But, who runs the world? It's Sin, and the ways of sin requires a lot of healing, but it becomes common place, so where is the wake up call?
It comes in the form of hurt.
Recognizing Hurt
Each of us has a limit, how much do your actions have to hurt before you realize what you are doing?
God has to allow contrast, how would we know good without evil. How would we know right without wrong, and how would we know about healing if we didn't have hurt.
In the bigger picture you have sin, the spirit that runs this world and wants to destroy us. This is a pretty bad form of hurt.
Hurt can come in many forms. You can hurt someones feelings, of course you can physically hurt someone and you can unintentionally hurt someone too.
Sin is a tricky character, he will make you think what your doing is alright, then when it backfires he will use your conscience and strangle you with it. This is why we need to get a better understanding of how sin works.
If we recognize sin upfront we can reduce hurt and continue healing. Read about it at Sin No More, it makes life a much nicer place to live.
