“I will be with you always until the end of time.” Matthew 28:20
When we love someone we want them to stay with us, our heart cries out when they leave and we wish we could have them forever with us.
Similarly, when Jesus anointed his apostles before His ascension into Heaven, the apostles wanted Jesus to stay with them. Peter tells Jesus that the night is long and dark.
But, Jesus urges them not to be afraid and promises to send the Holy Spirit; the Helper assuring that He will be with them always until the end of time.
What a wonderful promise! The Helper is our Comforter, Counselor & Prince of Peace.
Jesus teaches that whoever believes and is baptized will be saved; Whoever eats the Bread of Life will live forever.
In this journey of life, the night is indeed long and dark! We urge the Lord to be with us.
But God reassures us with His words, “Tears may flow in the night, but joy comes in the morning.”- Psalms 30:5
If we take one step towards the Lord, He will take hundred steps towards us.
When we give up something of great value, He rewards us with something far greater and unimaginable.
His eternal love is the promise of promises.
Leo Tolstoy has righty said “Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength while loving someone deeply gives you courage."
I have Our Lady visiting my home yet again for a week. My house has come alive with her presence and has been transformed into a mini Chapel. I can feel her protection all around. I would like her to stay forever.
Being far away from my loved ones, my words are a part of me that reaches them and is a way of my being with them. I share the grace that I have received, through my words to all of them hoping it will dispel the sadness of my absence with a promise that I will be with them again.
The words about the New Heaven and the New Earth at the end of time is of great comfort as we read in the Book of Revelation 21:3-5 “God’s home is with mankind! He will live with them, and they shall be his people. God himself will be with them, and he will be their God. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes. There will be no more death, no more grief or crying or pain, the old things have disappeared. The one who sits on the throne says, “And now I will make all things new!”
Truly, the greatest promise that has been pledged to us is being with the Lord and His Blessed Mother forever in eternity.
