A little rat races across the sandy floor, sets up tiny clouds of dust, and leaves tiny footprints behind... Some people never raise dust, or at least, leave marks on the sands of time. They pass through quietly, unheralded at the entry and exit of life. A wise king once observed that a still born is better than such. 'Aye', 'aye', I concur.
Our passage through life is staged on the sands of time. From birth through youth to old age, the clock never stops ticking and the calendar doesn't stay counting. Days turn into nights which break to usher in the early morning sun. Times evolve and decisions are made - the good, the bad, and the ugly. We meet so many people, whose names we forget almost as swift as the fleeting time. But do we leave footprints in time? How many forget-me-nots have we wooed life with?
A tiny rat raises dust and leaves mark; but a man, with larger feet, greater weight, who is made in the image of Him who created dust, does not. How can one blame him? He does not know.
