The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." Genesis 2:23
God created woman from the rib of man to be held close to his heart and to be loved by him. Just as the rib cage protects the heart, so does woman need to be protected by man.
A school friend wrote this in my autograph book “A woman is an innocent dove, A pillar of beauty, A temple of love, A friend in distress, A faithful companion and The only beauty a man can possess.”
Men think with their minds but women think with their hearts. A woman’s heart can hold so much of love and care. She is a picture of gentleness, comfort, kindness and patience. Her love is forever strong and lasting.
Her resilience is a force to be reckoned with. Though vulnerable; she deftly conceals her emotional wounds within her. She has an aura of mystery around her which makes her so appealing.
Her fragile shoulders carry the heavy burdens of life with so much of ease and efficiency. She puts herself last of all, pleasing everyone in her life and is the epitome of sacrifice. She enacts her various roles in life with a simplicity and charm without counting the cost.
A woman loves passionately from her heart and soul. The words in her heart are best read in her eyes.
A woman’s intuition should never be ignored. Her sentiments are best expressed through her tears. Her struggles and the hardships that she endures at times in the face of discrimination are exemplary. It is not easy to read a woman’s mind; one has to delve deep into her heart to touch her soul.
We have had some exceptional women down history who have been a great source of inspiration.
The most powerful woman and our role model is the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Other remarkable women who made their mark were Sarah, Queen Esther, Judith, Rebecca, Ruth, Elizabeth, Mary Magdalene, Martha & Mary, Veronica and the weeping women in Jerusalem. Not forgetting Blessed Mother Teresa and all the Saints now enjoying eternal bliss in Heaven. There are so many that the list could go on…
In Peter 3:4 the quality of a woman is best described.” Your beauty should consist of your true inner self, the ageless beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of the greatest value in God’s sight.”
Today, let us salute all the wonderful women around the globe on this special day set apart and honor them for their spirit, strength, love, affection & endurance.
