Who Is Your Father?

Each of us is a spirit and we all have a mind to think and these are wrapped in a body that allows us to function on the planet.

Each of us has a divine plan that God has prepared for us to do. His plan and purpose for our lives, however, is predicated on your desire to ask Him to reveal what that plan and purpose for you is.

God’s plan and purpose is the BEST, but we have been given the right, for lack of a better term, to have FREE WILL.

Free will allows us to choose to follow God’s plan and purpose, or not to follow it. We have the right to choose whether we will believe that Jesus came to the earth to become a sacrifice for our sins, and that in dying on the cross for those sins, He exchanged His righteousness for our sins.

Because Jesus has agreed to exchange His righteousness for our sins – if we choose to believe, then He has earned the right to tell us that, “There is only one way to the Father, and that is through me.” John 14:6.

If we choose to have God as our heavenly FATHER, by asking Christ to save us from our sins and to forgive those sins that we are truly sorry for, then we have access to His Father…who is God.

If we fail to gain access to God, the Father, then our spirit is the possession of another father, and that is the father of all lies…Satan.

Perhaps you never knew your earthly father. Maybe you never developed a rapport with him. God wants you to know that He wants to become the Father in your life that you can count on in every circumstance and situation that may ever come before you in life.

David expressed this sentiment very well in Psalm 68:5 when he wrote, “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.”

God created all of us, and he created all that is around us (contrary to the teaching of the evolution theory by man), and He has set in motion an inheritance for all those who call upon His Son’s name to be saved. God lives in heaven…His holy habitation as David puts it.

God, the father, wants everyone to spend eternity with Him in heaven, yet it is solely OUR CHOICE….our free will to choose whether to accept God’s inheritance.

What is there in heaven, and how do we know we can go there?

I will take this tiny excerpt from one of my books – Heaven – How Do I Get There, and tell you that heaven is where any intelligent soul would want to go when they die.

Satan also has a home waiting for his disciples…those who choose to reject Christ, and it isn’t pretty in his home.

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” – Heaven is a place that no writer can adequately describe – no artist can adequately paint on canvas. (Page vii).

The gates are never shut. Revelation 21:25, “And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.” So, we learned something else – there will be no more nighttime in Heaven. (Page 22)

You have just entered heaven, and peered into New Jerusalem, and you are looking up at 280’ high walls with gates of pearl. That rumor you’ve heard about Heaven having “pearly gates” is true!

Now, look down at your feet. You are looking at the roadway in heaven – and it is made of pure, translucent gold. It would look like someone poured pure, liquid gold into the ground and it hardened. As far as you can see, the roads are pure gold. We will be full of amazement and wonder at how this was all created, and created for those who could answer God’s question, “Why should I let you enter into this paradise that I have built?” (P:25)

As we walk along those streets of pure gold, we cannot help but notice the crystal clear river that runs along both sides of the thoroughfare. This river is found throughout the entire city of God, and travels to and from His very throne room.

Right in the middle of the street, we notice a huge tree….called the “great tree of life”. This tree was formerly in the Garden of Eden. It spreads outward and its branches bend toward the river on both sides of the golden streets. The Bible tells us that there are twelve varieties of fruit on this tree, and every month there is a fresh crop! Revelation 22:2. I can’t explain why, but the Bible indicates that there are months, therefore, there must be time in heaven. Time in light of eternity, can mean nothing in so far as it affects us, so I’m not sure what the significance of it is. I’m sure there are Bible scholars who would know this answer, but I do not. (P:26)

Once you get there, you will meet the likes of Abraham. You’ll see Jacob, Isaac, Joseph, King David and King Solomon. “And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of Heaven.” – Matthew 8:11.

They will be sitting at a table at the “Great Feast” that will be prepared. The good news about that feast is found in Luke 22:30, “That you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom.” We can eat in heaven! I was worried about that. I love to eat! (P:35)

Children will be there, too. Matthew 19: and verse 14 reads, “Then were there brought unto him (Jesus) little children, that He should put His hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. 14 But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of Heaven.”

This verse also confirms logic that I have used as to why children who are not responsible for their action, or those who are not responsible due to mental retardation will be in Heaven. (P:36)

WHAT WILL WE BE WEARING IN HEAVEN?

White – that’s what we will all be dressed in! You might be saying, right about now, “Sure, John….now you’re pulling my leg, right? Do you really think I’m crazy enough to believe that we’ll all be wearing white….like what, an angel?”

My interpretation of the scripture is not difficult…there should be no controversy about this verse: Revelation 3:5 says, “He who conquers shall be clad thus in white garments.” (P:36)

God has promised those who choose to believe His Son’s words found in the New Testament all of the above and so much more. There is not space enough in this writing to describe all that heaven offers because the book has 475 pages in it, but I can promise you this, based on God’s Word – you will have all of the inheritance of God, and your retirement plan in God’s habitation will cost you nothing.

You will have a home for eternity…never need a sick leave because there is no sickness there. You will have the ability to do miraculous things that you never thought were possible …and you can come and go anywhere you like – without transportation. YOU are the transportation!

Unfortunately, we must now give some space to the alternative father whom many souls, by default, will be heirs.

Jesus was questioned by the Pharisees who asked Him where His Father lived. Jesus told them, “My Father is in heaven."

John 8:37-47 –“I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My word has no place in you. I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.”

They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father”. Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word."

"You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

Someone asked me recently, “John, why is it that the devil continues to drag people into hell with him when he knows God’s Word as well as Christians do? Why is it that Satan does not understand that he will be cast into the bottomless pit of hell forever, and that he is a loser?

The answer to that question was addressed in the words of Jesus when He said, Satan does not know the truth…the truth is not in him. Satan believes in Satan (his own resources) and he would not know the truth if it bit him.

Satan, father of all lies, must believe that he almost won the battle in heaven with God spoken of in Revelation 12.7-8 –"And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought with the dragon; and the dragon and his angels fought, but they did not prevail, nor was a place found for them in heaven any longer.”

He must continue, therefore, to believe that he will again prevail against God, Jesus and all the angels in heaven because he has now amassed many, many more spirits (of the lost) since the time God tossed him out of heaven and down to Pergamos (now Bergama), Turkey. (Revelation 2:12-13 is a reference for where God tossed Satan)

Satan must believe his own lie that he will one day overpower God, Jesus and all of heaven because of the sheer mass of disciples that have chosen to follow him. May I say, publicly, that Satan is a jerk?

Jerk, loser yes…..but he is still the father of deceit. He still goes about he earth seeking whom he may devour…meaning he seeks to keep everyone from getting to the truth, and that truth is Jesus.

Satan has deceived multi-millions if not billions of people who chose NOT to believe the Gospel of Christ. He has convinced many to do anything but believe that Jesus is the Messiah…that He came to die on the cross to pay for the sins of mankind, He rose again on the third day (Sunday, April 13, 32 A.D.) and ascended back into His Father’s habitation – heaven, and that He is coming again twice.

The next time Jesus comes will be to gather the saints. He will not step foot on the earth during that time called "the rapture".

(Please visit another site -www.ProgressivesWorldwide.com to discover what my thoughts are about what is going on now behind the scenes …in the shadows of the global governments, and how they are setting themselves up for a power grab starting in 2012).

The second time Jesus will return to the earth, and set His foot down on Mount Zion, will be at the end of the seven year "Tribulation Period" (www.ProgressivesWorldwide.com), and that will be when He chains Satan in the pit of hell for one thousand years. Unfortunatley, before that event, "all hell has broken loose on the earth".

Satan continues to deceive many by telling them that the Messiah has not come.

He deceives many by arranging to have “clerics” tell people in their churches what the Bible says, rather than having each soul be responsible for their own destiny. In days gone by, many called their “clerics” by some title – even father, yet Jesus gave us specific words against this: Matthew 23:9 – “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.”

Jesus did not mean that one could not call their actual father “dad” or father, but He did mean call no man upon the earth your “father” in a spiritual sense. Yet, people still revere clerics as “father” or “holy father” or some other spiritual type of father, so Satan still convinces multitudes not to listen to or read God’s actual words. He convinces people to sit back...just relax, listen to others tell you what God says...don't get into the Bible yourself....rely on others who are trained in this sort of thing...and the "people perish for lack of knowledge". Hoseah 4:6.

Satan deceived Eve…Adam’s wife, in the Garden of Eden. God told Adam, who told Eve, “If you eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you will surely die a physical death.” Satan told Eve, “I say that God is lying to you…you shall surely NOT die.” Genesis 3:4

Satan’s tactic has not changed. He said to Eve….and he says to you and me, “Are you going to choose to believe God….or will you choose to believe me?”

The consequence of that decision will become your destiny for eternity. You will, by answering that one question, choose to determine whether you wish to spend eternity in God’s habitation….or Satan’s.

Jesus, on the other hand, told the Pharisees (and every person on earth who asks, “who will my accuser be in heaven at the judgment?)”, in John 5:45 –“ Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father: there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust.”

In other words, Jesus was telling the Jewish Pharisees (and every other human on the planet) that they refused to believe in Him, and instead chose to reject Him…therefore, they stand accused under the Laws given to Moses…the Ten Commandments.

In the great Day of Judgment, whomever lives by the Law, shall be judged by the Law…which no man can keep. This is why man needs a Savior.

I believe Joshua, the one who finally led Israel out of the wilderness after their forty year journey because of their unbelief, has put this question to them…that I now put to you…or anyone you pass this lesson on to:

“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

Who is your father going to be? God who lives in heaven…or Satan who will spend eternity in hell – “Where the fire is not quenched, and the worm dieth not.”

John Tyler, Author

P.S. Every Saturday, I take the elderly to McDonald's early in the morning. There are three who I have come to know over time, and they are above 86 years old. I have been "planting seeds" (as we all should be doing), and one, who is an 86 year old man said, "John, I don't know what is in the air, but I feel uneasy about what is going on in our government."

That led me to tell him and the others that the time of the end may be nearer than anyone thinks, but I do not worry about dying because I KNOW, beyond a shadow of doubt, that I will be ushered into heaven because I have trusted Christ as my Savior and Lord.

His wife, who is 93 years old, said, "Now, John, my friends say they wil go to heaven, and they and I have 'been good', so why would we not be allowed into heaven"?

I told them why, and I promised to deliver them a paper next Saturday, that will spell it out again, and it is my hope that they will read the words found below, and that they will take action to assure they WILL be allowed into the habitation of God, the Father.

HERE IS THE LETTER WRITTEN TO EACH. I HAVE LEFT A NAME IN ONE OF THE THREE SEPARATE, PERSONAL LETTERS, BUT YOU CAN PUT YOUR NAME - OR ANYONE ELSE'S NAME IN IT AND COPY IT AND HAND IT OUT.

Jesus said, in John 14:6 –“I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

God sent His Son, Jesus to the earth for one reason: Jesus came so that He could die on the cross as payment for your sins. Therefore, because there is no other way to get into heaven except through Jesus, we must believe the following:

1 - Jesus died on the cross for our sins.
2 - Only Jesus can forgive our sins because He paid for them.
3 - Jesus was raised from the dead three days later.
4 - Jesus ascended back into heaven and is preparing a place for those who believe and ask Him to save them.
5. Jesus is the Son of God.

We cannot get to heaven by being good.

Ephesians 2: 8-9 –“For it is by God’s grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.”

That means we can only be saved BY GOD’S GRACE…His willingness to make a way for us to be saved. That way is through the sacrifice made on the cross by His Son, Jesus. We cannot “earn” our way into heaven by good works. God said so. It is ONLY by our FAITH (believing something that we cannot see) in Jesus that we can get into heaven.

If we could somehow earn our way into heaven, it would mean that Jesus died on the cross for nothing. God says that if we reject what Jesus did for us, then He will judge us when we face Him at our time of death, and He will judge us by the Law (The Ten Commandments).

This means that if we have committed one sin – we fall short of God’s glory, and we cannot enter into heaven. Instead, God says the He must punish sin by sending sinners to a place called hell.

God is NOT willing that any should go to hell, so that is why He loved mankind so much that he was willing to sacrifice His only Son for us.

Romans 3:21-24 –“But now the righteousness (glory) of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, 22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference; 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”

The above means this: God has revealed (shown us) that there is only ONE WAY into heaven apart from being judged by the Law (meaning if we are WITHOUT SIN, we could get into heaven…but God told us ALL HAVE SINNED), and that is to ask Jesus (who was without sin or He was “righteous”), to save us from this destiny with hell. God says, if we trust His Son, and believe on Him, we do not have to be judged by the Law because Jesus exchanged His righteousness for our sins when He died on the cross on Friday, April 11th 32 A.D.

God made a promise to us. He said, “Whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.” God does not lie. He said, “Whoever” – and this means YOU…calls upon my Son to save them…He SHALL SAVE them.”

Therefore…God’s promise to you is this:

If Ruth calls upon my Son, Jesus, and tells Him that she is a sinner, and that she is sorry for her sins, and acknowledges that my Son, Jesus, died on the cross for her sins, and if Ruth believes in her heart that my Son, Jesus, can save Her…then RUTH SHALL BE SAVED…and will inherit eternal life in heaven with me.

If RUTH does not call upon my Son, Jesus, I have written these words in 1 Corinthians 6:9 - “Do you not know that the unrighteous (the sinner who has not asked my Son to save them) will not inherit the kingdom of God?

It is CRYSTAL CLEAR. If we reject God’s Son and the sacrifice that He made on the cross for us, and we believe there is some OTHER WAY to get into heaven, we are wrong. We must call upon Jesus and ask Him…in faith, to save us. When we do, God promises we SHALL BE SAVED.

Please ask Jesus to save you.
