A HEART DIVIDED

My child, I see your battle. No words to volunteer.
I see your will is fading, although your heart still remains here.
Your story may now look like, one of seeming despair.
And now you fight on quietly, lingering past your time here.
Be reminded, child of mine, you must not lose heart.
Outwardly you waste away, but renewal will soon start.
Its hard to leave these lives, that you have poured yourself into.
They are at your bedside now, and know what you need to do.
They will miss you terribly. I hear as knees hit the floor,
but they know to be in body, is to be further from your Lord.
Your sons have been next to you, to show their love while they can.
Your adopted family begins to pray, and commend you with joined hands.
Your daughter has come to you. She'll be here at the close of this story.
She is beside you, and she knows, you’re headed for eternal glory.
But my daughter, I also see,where your heart and will are now.
Your devotion and love for him, fulfilling your final vows.
He sees you have a foot,still firmly in his place.
He feels your inner war. He sighs, and rubs his face.
Be assured, love of mine, He’ll see you again in eternity.
He has known now for some time, this is no longer about you and he.
He sighs with resignation, and gently strokes your hair.
He begins to memorize your face,knowing you no longer belong here.
“Enough is Enough”, he chokes, allowing you to let go, and then he stands.
He is stopping to look back one more time,
sensing you switching hands.
Now the room is silent,
your last breath before glory.
Welcome home my child. Now you see,
this is MY rescue story.
