Good morning my beautiful brothers and sisters I wrote this four years ago and it brought tears to my eyes this morning so I decided to share it again. Be blessed, To God be the glory for the things HE has done!

God gave me a blessing yesterday
Although my actions didn't command it
Nor did my words reap it
God simply gave me a blessing
For yesterday my heart sank into unfamiliar territory
For yesterday hope was murdered and I stood still
Thinking of circumstance...momentarily
God gave me a blessing yesterday
And I didn't deserve it in the least
He smiled on me with brilliance only he can give
Picking me up and pulling me in
God knew my situation
And my yielding to Him
Although granting me a blessing
Had nothing to do with me
For it's not about who I am
Or anything I could do...
For who I am is insignificant
And what I've done even more so
God gave me a blessing yesterday
Simply because it was of His good pleasure
Even if I could have worked for it
I couldn't have worked enough
Even if I could have praised him for it
My worship would have fallen short
Even if I could dance for it
My step would be out of tune
Even if I could have ran for it
It would have just passed me by
For you see God gave me a blessing yesterday
And I still don't know why
He simply smiled at me and held me close
Yesterday I felt my fathers arms and never
felt so protected
For yesterday my Father loved me and showed me just who He is
He held me and helped me
as the tears fell rapidly
tears of joy and awe
Knowing that He hears me
And He answers my call
Knowing that I am truly His
is the best part of all
God gave me a blessing yesterday....
One I did not deserve
For I've learned whatever it is that I can do
It still is not enough

God bless you, Sister. You have ministered grace to me in this poem. I'm sure many contrite hearts and broken spirit have been refreshed by this writing. God bless you always as you "serve Him with rejoicing, fear, and trembling" Psalm 2:11.
In our Precious Saviour's mercies,
Maryknoll
