For any Christian this can be
A rather difficult thing to see
How we must be shared of two
One of me and one of you
It is great to be meek and mild
But listen to me my little child
You have to rise against the odds
For out there are too many sods
Stand up and sharpen your claws
Life is filled with so many flaws
Straighten your back, do not slouch
Don’t fall asleep on a comfy couch
It is while you rest and are asleep
Up comes the devil, a wolf in a sheep
Stand steadfast, stay up wide awake
Here comes the devil like an earthquake
Shake him off do not let him near
Turn to God, with Him have no fear
Watch him run and watch him hide
While God takes the earth by tide
Heaven opens and waters raise
While Angel’s sing of their praise
Father, to the Son, three in Spirit
Dare the devil now to oppose it
Thunderous voices in heaven above
Now let earth feel His powerful love
Lift my Spirits, free me from all sin
For now with God great Spirit I win
Thanks to Jesus His blood shed
I followed Him to where He led
Me to find His Father enthroned
Below His feet, the devil dethroned
