You looked at me like no one else,
Had ever looked at me before.
What started out as being friends,
Soon blossomed into so much more.
So gently, our love came to be.
A gift, it came as sweet surprise,
That you would find such worth in me,
And I'd see Jesus in your eyes.
Soon marriage plans had all been made,
With nervousness, but never fears,
For God's foundation had been laid,
Provision for our future years.
And so, we started married life,
With promises of burdens shared.
With you my husband; me your wife,
For any thing we felt prepared.
In time, we had a family,
A symbol of our love, it's true.
A girl for you, a boy for me,
And with them, lot's more work to do.
Some days were diamonds, some were stone,
We took the bad; we took the good.
You never let me feel alone,
You stayed just like you said you would.
With time, we've lost our youthful charms,
I've gotten plump; you've lost your hair.
You hold me safe within your arms,
And I'd go with you anywhere.
Grow old with me, if God allows,
Forever, I will grateful be,
That we have kept our wedding vows,
Secure in Godly sanctity.
Your always and forever wife
