NOT A DREAM by Mary Alice Bowles
She came to me in the middle of the night
Her hair was shiny silk
Her wings touched the ceiling
Rays of light penetrated through every fiber of her body
She said, “Come, you must be willing”!
Bogged down by a load of sin
I almost fell under the load
We traveled down a long dark hall
She helped me carry all my burdens
For angels never fall
My eyes were closed with blinders
I knew the moon was alive with light
But deep within, I could not see
Blankets of deep black sin
Was all around me
There was a knock upon my heart
I opened the door and He walked in
Now I see
A circle of grace now surrounds me
We traveled through an open door toward infinity
Both my hands were clasped by fingers
Soft and warm
Peace held me steadfast
Instantly I knew I had been reborn
Then I saw the moon, the light of a million beams
It circled the mountain
I saw angels, 10,000 angels
Dancing and shouting, celebrating
Someone touched the Master
Who was it?
It was me, a sinner
Someone special who touched the Master
A sinner saved by grace
Because you see, He died
And took my place.
