Sunday 2/14/10 Pastor Alex’s sermon--The Family Business--Priesthood
Matt 24:36-39, 42-46
We have ownership in the family business. We are part of a chosen people. We are part of God’s family and priests in the family business of saving souls. Matt 24:36-39 As in the days of Noah, so shall it be when God sends Jesus back. Noah’s days= eating, drinking and life was just going on as usual=getting married, watching the super bowl=then the flood came and washed them all away.
1) Be Alert and be ready for Jesus to come back.
Hes coming at a time when we don’t think he is coming. We need to be ready and not goofing off cause Jesus hasn’t come yet. We should not goof off at work when our boss is gone. Jesus said its an evil servant that does this and we should be good stewards and disciples of Christ.
The parable of the Ten Virgins== five were prepared by bringing extra lamp oil as they waited for the groom to come. The other five were not prepared. They all knew he was coming so they all should have been prepared.
******We need to be ready and prepared for the coming back of Jesus!
Are we ready to meet the King of Kings?? Are we committed to Him, expecting and waiting for Him to come back to get us? Are we living for Jesus’s coming? Are we about the Family Business--getting folk ready to have a relationship with God?? We should have a passion for God and for the Word of God.!! We Need to Bring Our Bible to Church!!!!!!
2) Get Caught doing the right thing
We need to be involved in the Family Business which is about reaching people for the kingdom of God! Winning people for Christ is the family business. We need to be about the Father’s business and invite people to church and tell of the good things of Jesus Christ.
**Don’t enter into a relationship with God lightly
**Make sure we have a relationship with God
**Be a deliberate servant of God
**Remember that God expects a return on his investment in us. We need to serve God and serve people. There are thousands and thousands of unsaved people in our neighborhoods that we are here to make an impact on them for JESUS CHRIST!
