The Seventh Day
Lliam Tallon Copyright © 2010
Since the beginning there was set aside a day
Of rest and fellowship with The Creator, there should be no other way.
Not for any one tribe, or any one people
You could pray in your closet, or under a steeple.
The seventh day, we are told is a day of rest.
Given by our Creator, HE knows what is best.
Then came the ones who sought HIS face.
Lead out of bondage, brought away from that place.
HE gave through those people a set of laws, for all to follow
They are righteous and just, not empty or hollow.
In the forth law given, HE took that seventh day
Hallowed it and sanctified it, for us to remember, and not to do away.
Yesterday, today and forever, HE is the same, we are told by HIS SON.
Not one jot or tittle shall change from HIS Law till all is DONE.
That seventh day that HE blessed and HE called The Sabbath
It has not been done away, nor has HIS wrath.
For when we are judged, by the ONE who is just and true...
You don’t want HIM to say, depart from me, for I never knew you.
(KJV) Genesis 2:2 “And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.”
2:3 “And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.”
(KJV) Exodus 20:8 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.” 9 “Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:” 10 “But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:”
(KJV) Matthew 7:21 “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.” 22 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?” 23 “And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
(KJV) Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfi”l.18 “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
