There was a Prince who waited for His bride
How beautiful was she, but so full of pride
She knew this Prince was the one
He was told it was her hand He had won
The bride and Prince had never met
But the wedding date was set
He wrote to her a love letter
So she could get to know Him better
He had hoped that when He came
She would know His name
And she would run into His arms
Knowing He would never do her harm
True Love waits always
True Love never fades away
True Love, will sacrifice
True Love paid the price
When He rode in she wasn't there
His heart was broken, she didn't care
To a garden He went to pray
Nothing could take this pain away
She read His letter but never saw
She couldn't get passed the law
If only she would have really read
She would have known, what He would do instead
True Love waits always
True Love never fades away
True Love, will sacrifice
True Love paid the price
She didn't want the "Stranger" around
She called for Him to be bound
They arrested Him where He prayed
Even though no mistake He made
She ordered Him to be put to death
He said "I still love you" under His breath
They beat Him, and led Him up the Hill
And was reminded that His blood would spill
True Love waits always
True Love never fades away
True Love, will sacrifice
True Love paid the price
With His arms stretched open wide
He said "I love you" while being crucified
They made for the Prince a crown
Not gold, but thorns of brown
As the end of His life drew near
He never showed any fear
"Forgive her Father, she knows not
That I Am the love that she forgot."
True Love waits always
True Love never fades away
True Love, will sacrifice
True Love paid the price
In His letter she failed to see
He alone held the key...to eternity
After three days, from death He rose
He was still in love with the bride He chose
He said He would wait always
He looked forward to the day
When she would read that letter again
Until that happens, this story has no end
True Love waits always
True Love never fades away
True Love, will sacrifice
True Love paid the price
