Put my hand on a Book . . . gave pages a quick look . . . found verses I forsook;
Put my eye on a line . . . saw truth that was mine . . . though about an ancient time;
Put my heart on a thought . . . about a lesson well taught . . . by each prophet God brought;
Put my soul on a goal . . . to restart my whole life whole . . . by the very One people stole;
Put my hand on a Book . . . pages give me a long look . . . and find, I'm no longer forsook.
