Do Not Fear Facing the Giants
2/11/2009
Recently I watched a video on TBN, I was looking for a particular program and happened to see that they were playing "Facing The Giants".I am not a big TV watcher, nor do I watch movies, but do like to watch a Christian program once in awhile.
Generally I prefer my bible and hearing from the Lord, but this turned out to be a word from the Lord and He spoke through the whole movie, for some that is not an enjoyable experience but when God speaks in my spirit, I listen.
The movie was not something I would particularly want to watch when I learned it was about a football team, but I was prompted to watch it anyway..
Now I understand why, it had such a profound message for the body of Christ and myself in these end times." That with God nothing is impossible", and not to fear facing the giants. I will relate some of the story and then show you what God showed me.
As I watched the movie, the Lord began to show me things as the story line continued, He was showing me lessons the young football team was learning and how it applied to my own life..
If you have not seen this video, it is about a High School team called the "Eagles" led by a Christian coach. He was leading them to the Lord and teaching them to honor God in everything, whether they won or lost.
At the same time they were learning how to overcome hardships, and challenges. To press on and never give up, to trust God in all things, and praise Him in all things.. When they got discouraged, their head down, he would say who can do all things in Christ, who strengthens you? They would answer "We can". He would tell them they were learning to be overcoming Christians by the test they had to go through.
The Eagle represents the overcoming Christian, eagles are not afraid of anything, and they face head on into the storms of life. For me it is a symbol of my goal to be an overcomer.
I forgot that I have two pictures of an Eagle sitting regally on a ledge, and a wolf standing looking down on him, yet knowing the eagles strength and talons he only observes looking for a way for a surprise attack.
The eagle is undaunting, he doesn't move, but he is listening, and watching waiting for the time he will rise up in the wind, as it goes under his wings. Powerful message.
I also have a painting my husband had made for me that is an eagle with full wings landing on branches, it reminds me of the prophecy in Ezekiel 17:1-10. I didn't ask for that picture he just bought it for me, God is speaking through those pictures.
I know that our Lord is preparing us for the times coming, there is a message for all of us. The early church were all overcomers, and we are called to that great calling as we stand for the name of Christ in every situation, amid persecution, as well as storms..
We do not have time to be caught up with the things of the world, our eyes needs to be on the prize. He is preparing us to stand.
The young Eagle football team did so well in their season they got an opportunity to play in the championship
They had to face a team called the Giants. These were huge players that had a very tough reputation.
This young team may have seen themselves as grasshoppers when they went to face their opponents, but they were in fact eagles when God moved them with the the power of the Holy Spirit. They trusted, they didn't back down, they pressed toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Once the team learned that Jesus lived inside of them, and nothing was impossible they had no fear, they knew all things were possible. The Eagle Overcomers won the game and the championship at the last minute when a very small player made a field goal at a distance that would be normally impossible, but it was Christ within him that made that long goal and it showed how Jesus in them moved with precision in a game in which they were outweighed and out experienced. Yet with God nothing is impossible.
There was a lot I got out of that movie about trusting God and not fearing our enemy, and how God blesses faithfulness to Him.often in material ways, just to encourage us.
It brought to mind how the Moses sent up men to spy out the land of Caanan, and they found it was everything the Lord had told them. Num 13:27 And they came and told him and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.
Num 13:28 Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.
Num 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
.
Num 13:29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.
Num 13:30 And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
Caleb knew that they could overcome all those great peoples, because he trusted in the Lord God and His strength and power to over come them, just as David did when he faced Goliath.
This is the difference between those who trust God and those trusting in the arm of flesh.
They had the Lord with them wherever they went as long as they continued to trust Him.
We have Him living inside of us so we just have to get out of the way and let him overcome our enemies, trials and mountains in our life.
We must recognize continually he is inside of us and we can speak to the mountains, the storms, and the enemy that comes against us, and they shall be removed. Faith not fear.
Num 13:31 But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.
Num 13:32 And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.
Num 13:33 And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.
And because of their evil report and cowardice, none entered into the Promise Land except for Caleb and Joshua and the children of the following generations. And Moses died and was buried, he never saw the Promise Land because he disobeyed the Lord in striking the rock.
After he took all the Israelites through the wilderness and went through all the trials and tests so that they could enter into the land of milk and honey Moses was unable to enter in because of disobedience. this is a lesson we need to keep in mind.
The Israelites were there ready do enter in, but instead they feared what they were facing, they forgot that God was with them. They feared the giants of "what if's", and did not not trust the strength of God to carry them through. After God never left them the whole forty years, He fed them with manna, brought water from a rock and their shoes never wore out those in all those years.
He gave them victory over every army sent out to destroy them, yet they believed not so they did not enter in.
We can no longer see ourselves as grasshoppers if Christ is in us we can command mountains to move and storms to flee, our bodies to heal and our finances to come in line with God's will for our lives. We just need to believe in our God, who never fails.
We can command demons to flee and set the captives free and be thankful our names are written down in the book of life. Praise the name of the Lord, Yahweh!
This is who who we are in Christ, we are His chosen vessel, he speaks through us, we become His hands feet and mouth. If we are led of the Spirit we are the Sons of God., it is Christ in me, the hope of glory.
Mar 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
Mar 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
: Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
The works that He is talking about are miracles, signs and wonders so that unbelievers come to Christ, it means healing the sick, feeding the thousands with little, it means casting out demons, it means commanding the circumstances to cease in your life and to protect us when harm comes our way.
Speaking to storms, that are coming at us, help in times when plagues are about, for it shall not come near our door, because we are abiding in the shelter of his wings..Psalms 91.
This is not speaking riches into our life out of covetousness, but it is for bringing in and working out the true kingdom of God.
We are facing the most difficult times ahead, but God has given us the authority to speak forth His word and command storms to cease, to overcome dangers and challenges in our lives. we do not have to be as grasshoppers in our own sight. It is all of him and none of us, we can't take credit for all the healings, deliverances, and even revival, it comes from Him, within us..
Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.
There is nothing we cannot overcome, we must stand in faith in the face of our giants and know greater is He that is in me then he that is in the world.
How do I know that? Because the word of God has said that if we love him and Keep His commandments, the Father will love us and the three will come to live inside of us. How much power can that be?
Now that we know He lives within us then our lives can change drastically but we must walk in that knowledge we must walk it out. We will get challenges and test but if we do not give up, but continue on pressing in, we shall overcome.
I find that we can be taught principles but often we don't grasp them until the Holy Spirit teaches us Himself, this happened to me, and because I had not grasped it fully, I got discouraged with my circumstances..
I was taught these truths long ago through out my walk, but it wasn't until the Holy Spirit revealed it to me, fully that I began to grasp it. I know the test come and go but his mercy endures forever.
Ask him to teach this to you, He teaches us when it is the right time, He is never late, he is always on time.
He will teach us all things.. 1John 2:27
There is no fear, but fear itself. Love conquors all fear! Hallelujia!
