Take comfort in knowing that I hear your prayers during these times of struggle, economic hardship, and strife in our world. Continue to have confidence in approaching Me. When you ask anything according to my will, I hear you. (1 John 5:14) I wait eagerly for you come to me in your weariness, so I may give you the rest you desperately need. (Matthew 11:28) When you go through these rivers of difficulty, be assured you will not drown. Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 – Isaiah 43:2) I am your refuge and your fortress in whom you can trust – knowing that every silent plea and spoken desire rests firmly in the recesses of my heart. (Psalm 91:2)
Each day, lay your burdens down upon me, for I am here and will sustain you, never letting you fall. (Psalm 55:22) Every tear that falls from your eye is seed on fertile ground which will reap a great harvest. For those who plant in tears will harvest with shouts of joy when their faith rests in Me. (Psalm 126:4-6) Please try not to worry about things – about what to eat, what to drink, or what to wear (Matthew 6:30). For where your treasure is, there your heart will also be. (Matthew 6:21) With that understanding, let your treasure be your belief in Me, because I already know all your needs. (Matthew 6:32) Seek My Kingdom above all else, and live righteously, for I will give you everything you need. Do not look to tomorrow, rest in my love and providence. I supply everything necessary for today. (Matthew 6:33-34)
Try not to fear what you can’t control, for I am in everything, watching over you and protecting you. My beloved children build each other up on holy faith and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit. (Jude 1: 20) Resist the temptation to invest yourselves in the perishable riches of earth, but rather bask in the enduring riches of heaven freely given, that will gain for you eternal interest. (Luke 12:21, 33) I have surrounded you with a cloud of witnesses, in order that you may lay down every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles you, and run with endurance the race that is set before you. (Hebrews 12:1) When temptation knocks…hopelessness rings the bell…doubt bangs…or fear kicks upon the door…simply ask and I will open the door for you…I am here. I am the Lord, your God, and I will be there to help you wherever you go. (Joshua 1:9)
And as you reflect on this Lenten season, allow the redeeming Grace of the Sorrowful Mysteries to seep into your souls and fill the ache of your innermost being. Look into the Eucharist and see my Son – really see Him, nailed to the Cross, broken on your behalf, pouring out his healing blood for all your sins, burdens, sorrows, struggles. And remember his Mother, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who suffered deeply as she surrendered her Son for your Salvation. Because of Mary’s decision to love, you have all been given the freedom to live. Come to her and allow her to wrap her heavenly mantle of compassion around your spirit, and celebrate with you the life-giving miracle accomplished by her Son’s death. And allow Christ’s presence to bring you unending joy as you share in His body and drink the cup of His love. For whatever circumstances surround your personal lives that pry, strain, distort, and limit your contentment and security, trust that Mary’s “yes” and my Son’s “not my Will, but Your Will, Lord” are a constant source of strength to sustain you all the days on this earth and in the eternal life to come.
All my love,
God
