Jesus and the Keys
As the body of Jesus was taken down off the cross and placed in the designated tomb, a thunderous rumble could be felt and heard in the underworld.
Souls, long past gone, now chained, imprisoned by the dark force himself. THousands of years had passed. Torturous screams and anguish cries of despair and pain resounded all around the dark, recluse, foul smelling, skanky dungeon.
Day after day, year after year, one long, continuous moment without time.
Lucifer jeered while his ever-so -faithful cohorts continually taunted and mocked the forgotten damned.
But this day in time was different.
This moment in time, dreaded by the dark force himself----had indeed arrived.
As the thunderous rumble echoed throughout the corridors of Lucifer's domain, brilliance of light enveloped darkness, for Light had never encased this skanky, foul smelling dungeon.
A sweet fragrance of lilies engulfed and wafted throughout the underworld.
What was about to happen, was only the beginning of the end.
Frightened screams of Lucifer's bond slaves echoed throughout.
Nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
Like frightened statutes, Lucifer's bond slaves stationed erect, like stone.
Lucifer, himself, slowly and cowardly inched backwards while the now pulsating brilliant figure of Jesus Himself, confidently moved towards the very purpose of His arrival in the underworld.
Lucifer snarled and jeered as he cowardly inched backwards to the very edge where he knew his eternal opponent and rival was headed.
Lucifer frightfully hailed for assistance from his masterful cohorts.
That's when he realized, he was alone.
His once faithful and masterful alliances completely abandoned him in time of need.
"Such fools!" he begrudgingly growled.
Just then, silence stood still. Deafening silence. Quickening silence.
Lucifer quietly glanced over his shoulder, noticing both he and his eternal opponent had arrived the edge of destination.
Light resounded. Destiny spoke.
Lucifer awakened, realizing deman for response was inevitable.
He knew he could not fight this unbeatable force.
Right then with a most, clear and pure, and penetrating voice,
Jesus assuredly commanded,
"Lucifer, hand over those keys."
As Lucifer slowly gestured toward his prized commodity, still hanging on the edge, he snarled and growled as he quickly snatched what he thought to be "his possession."
As Lucifer gestured to conceal the loud and clanging, rusty steel, Jesus once again spoke.
But not as before
This time, all of heaven could hear the direct, resonating command.
"Lucifer, I said, hand over the keys!"
"Give me the keys of sin and death."
"Enough is enough!"
"I have conquered. It is finished!"
"As I said before, I win, you lose!"
At first, Lucifer hesitated.
For thousands of years, he possesed the very keys that enslaved sin and imprisoned torturous death.
Resistance to comply, failed.
Exchange was inevitable.
DIVINE AUTHORITY CONQUERS!
Right then, joyful cheers and resounding laughter could be heard from prison cells lined up for miles and miles.
The forgotten damned, now, come alive, rejoicing, for death and sin had been conquered!
LIGHT HAS COME!
As the keys were rightfully placed into the hands of the Anointed One, and assembly line of unbolted prison cells echoed throughout the underworld.
Chains and shackles that once bound the forgotten damned, instantly vanished!
Those once imprisoned without time, now FREE!
For three days, Jesus taught His ways.
With compassion, He touched their broken and scarred bodies, and they were healed!
Light spoke into their being and they were set free!
Jesus spoke with grace and authority, saying,
"Today, you shall be in paradise with me."
This would be the beginning of the end.
