In early February 2003, in Sydney where I was living, I bought some chemicals for our pool and a young man helped me out to the car. I asked his name - "Luke." I smiled and asked if he'd read the book of Luke in the Bible? No, he hadn't. I remarked that it was a really great book to read. Luke replied, "What's in it?" I opened the boot of the car to put the chemicals in and there was my Bible. (First time I've left my Bible in the boot!) "It's written by a doctor," I continued. I opened the Bible to Luke and read him a verse from chapter 1 & told him what he could find in the beginning of it. He seemed genuinely interested. He didn't have a Bible so I suggested he get one and read what Luke had to say. I gave him my personal tract to read in the meantime and said I'd pray for him. A few week later I returned to buy more chemicals and left a Bible for Luke who wasn't there. On my next visit there, one of the staff asked me if I was the guy who gave Luke the Bible. When I said I was, she said "His father was delighted and... Wait here...Please take this 5kg container of dishwashing liquid as his thanks." (Interesting gifts the Lord gives me sometimes!) May that whole family come to know the living Lord Jesus.
