Marriage and dating
Love and pursuit
Changing and learning
White or the blues?
Is it a shame that I am not claimed?
As some smirk and whisper “old maid”.
But they don’t know I loved you
Or how it hurts that you’re gone
Perhaps I know love better untasted
And life better undone
It should hurt
And sometimes it does
That I am alone
No longer with
Someone
But the One I have now
Is eternally mine
He likes me ugly
He likes my rhymes
He is always there
And yet can back off
Jesus is his name
And
Enough is never enough!
So marvel at the wonders
Of you grand celestial dates,
And mock if you will
What seems to be my fate.
I will wait forever
For the One who waits for me
And as God stands beside
Never waiver from who I'm meant to be.

I don't know what Mewige means, but this is my favorite. Keep putting yourself on paper. It'll keep you in front of Him. This poem reminded me of a song by Bebo Norman, "Perhaps She'll Wait.''
