Handprints

Twenty little children sleeping.
Precious bundles in my keeping.
Just a year to sow some seeds.
Love a lot, and fill some needs.

Glimpsing Dreams, and Joy, and fears.
Giggles sprinkled into tears,
Leaving handprints on my heart.
Every day, some other part.

Eyes alight with Heavens Grace.
So needing just a warm embrace.
Approval, begging,
‘Can I play.
Am I safe, and will you stay?’

Little Angels, live your dreams.
It’s not as hard, as life can seem.
Hear the Music, learn the Dance.
Nothing ever comes by chance.

Twenty little children sleeping.
Precious bundles in my keeping.
Love a lot, and fill some needs.
and,
just a year to sow some seeds.

Handprints is a beautiful piece, Elisabeth. Very few know the joys in Children Ministry, and just like with the patient farmer, their joys come a long time after the labour. I pray God's grace to see you through in fulfilling your ministry. And congratulations!
