Noah and The Ark

The lambs, the lions, giraffes and bears...
You want them to live with me?
Cooped up in the ark because of the rain
Just what do You think of me?

Why, the smell itself would make me insane,
And can You imagine the mess!
A hole in the ceiling would be my next job
Or giraffes suffer all kinds of stress!

And just who will clean out the bins and the stalls?
It won't be my wife, that's for sure.
For this kind of cleaning, she's just not equipped
And could not and would not endure!

Does this show devotion? I may get sea motion!
But I see the flood is at hand,
So I'll quit complaining for this is good training...
Obey when I don't understand.

And so Noah followed God's every command,
Explicit directions God gave,
For He was determined this family exist
And two of each animal save.

And so two by two the animals came,
A male and a female were they.
And when they embarked, Noah's wife and his kids,
The skies overhead turned to gray.

And just as God said, the earth was destroyed,
Apart from the ark nothing spared.
The land was all covered, the mountains, the hills,
But Noah by God was prepared.

For over a year they stayed in the ark
Until God gave Noah a sign.
Then out came the creatures again two by two,
The ox and the donkeys, the swine.

An altar was built and burnt offerings made
To worship the God over all.
A rainbow He placed as a sign for all time,
His promise for all to recall.

Never again would a flood destroy all,
God promised, no never again.
With every new rainbow His pledge still remains,
A promise made once for all men.

What a great accounting of Noah and his venture. I really enjoyed the perspective of how he would handle all the mess. . . Like his wife, I would have not added this to my list . . . but did she? Did she too come to the following conclusion . . . "Obey when I don't understand." A good lesson for us all! Thank you and God bless you. . . debby
