You are my Living Water,
A well that never ends,
My source for strength and hope
When discouragement descends.
Alone I pour out nothing,
I've nothing, Lord, to give,
So pour Your Spirit out on me
Don't let me be a sieve.
I want to be Your source of life
And not a constant drain,
So help me in the midst of all
So I do not complain.
Your water has brought healing
And peace I've never known,
And even in the midst of pain
Your glory has been shown.
But now my cup is empty,
Too tired to lift it up,
I cannot give what I don't own,
I need a pick-me-up.
I ask for Living Water,
To be immersed in You,
Don't sprinkle me and walk away,
My body please renew.
I want to be a fountain
To pass along Your life,
Without You, Lord, my well is dry,
My Spirit ends in strife.
You've promised Living Water,
You see my body's need,
So once again I come to You,
Your strength is guaranteed.
"My people have done two evils: They have turned away from me, the spring of living water. And they have dug their own wells, which are broken wells that cannot hold water." Jeremiah 2:13 (New Century Version)
"But the water I give them," he said, "becomes a perpetual spring within them, watering them forever with eternal life." John 4:14 (The Living Bible)
