Distressing, disturbing, depressing, distraught,
Some days are delightful and others are not.
Some days we are happy, on others we're sad,
And sometimes we think we'll go stark raving mad!
But Jesus' example we need to observe,
Though saddened and tired still He chose to serve.
For Jesus was grieving, a dear friend had died,
So He slipped away from the crowds at His side.
Throngs chose to follow, to Him they appealed,
And seeing their need all their sickness He healed.
When evening arrived they had nothing to eat,
No chips and no cookies, no veggies, no meat!
No Arbys, no Wendys, McDonalds to munch,
No pretzels, no carrots, no apples to crunch.
No pizzas, no tacos, no fast food at all,
No groceries, no cell phones on which they could call.
But one little boy volunteered all he had,
Five loaves and two fish, making Jesus' heart glad.
Five thousand were fed plus the women and kids,
When one little lunch into His hands was slid.
They ate all they wanted and still there was more!
Twelve baskets were gathered, leftovers galore!
You see, all God asks us...to give what we've got,
What seems small in our hands in His is a lot.
