"Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, 'Whom shall I send?" And who will go for us?" And I said, "Here I am. Send me!" He said, "Go tell this people...." Isaiah 6: 8,9a
I begin my article by asking, "How will we get to where He wants us to go, and to do what He wants us to do?"
Isaiah was flesh and blood like you and me. He had no special abilities in and of himself. He had no special insight into the spirit realm that you and I cannot, ourselves, possess.
But one day...one ordinary day in his life..or so it seemed, Isaiah over-heard a conversation that put him in alignment with the course God had already laid out for him. (I encourage you to read all of Isaiah chapter six).
Now, there is something about hearing the voice of the Lord that changes us! It explodes within us and it demands a response on our part! I believe all this happened to Isaiah when he heard the voice of the Lord!
Please notice that God did not at first reveal the job description. He simply said, "Whom shall I send?" And, "Who will go for us? Isaiah volunteered without even knowing what the job responsibilities would be, and how long would be the assignment.
But he did ask the Lord a question in verse eleven, "How long is this job going to take, Lord?" The Lord replied, in essence...."As long as it takes to get the job done."
This is normally how He works in our lives today. If we hang around Him long enough, we, too, will hear His voice, and we, too, will have a decision to make.
It is my own personal desire to be so in love with my Lord, that when He begins to look for a volunteer, I will agree to go and do what needs to be done, for His Glory.
Regardless of the task involved, regardless of what road it might lead me down, and regardless of how long it takes to get the job done, may I always be willing.
Blessings to you today, as you live in His presence and obey His voice.
