Perfect In The Sight Of God
"Forever perfect in the sight of God",
O Lord, can this be true?
I can't begin to comprehend,
I haven't got a clue.
I take so much for granted,
Forgive me, Lord, I pray...
But perfect in Your sight, O Lord...
Whate'er I do or say?
I can't begin to understand
This gift so undeserved,
And yet I have Your promise,
A home You have reserved.
So knowing this I stand in awe,
I serve and worship You,
Though "perfect" I can't comprehend
I know Your Word is true.
"But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool, because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." Hebrews 10:12-14 (NIV)
"This includes you who were once so far away from God. You were his enemies, separated from him by your evil thoughts and actions, yet now he has brought you back as his friends. He has done this through his death on the cross in his own human body. As a result, he has brought you into the very presence of God, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. But you must continue to believe this truth and stand in it firmly. Don't drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News." Colossians 1:21-23a (New Living Translation)
