For sure for this year you might have taken a resolution, and there would be some things to do and not to do,
however let's try to see if this would be a good resolution to adopt in our life.....
'Nevertheless we made our prayer to our God, and because of them we set a watch against them day and night.'
Nehemiah 4:9 (New King James Version)
Prayer is one of the most vital thing in a Christian's life.
So much has been said, preached & written about it, for it is thus essential and required in our life.
Matthew Henry compared prayer as essential to the breath of life in us when he said....
"You may as soon find a living man that does not breath, as a living Christian that does not pray." Matthew Henry
That simply means that we are a dead person if without prayer...
Yet another great man of God said thus.....
"No learning can make up for the failure to pray. No earnestness, no diligence, no study, no gifts will supply its lack." E.M. Bounds
There is no alternative to prayer.
Often we might think that we may not continue in prayer for more than few minutes, for this is when we do not really know God, to us then He is just an ATM machine before which we equally spent only some few minutes to get what we want, however when we start recognising and knowing Him as our loving Father, as our Savior and source of all blessedness, then shall we spent hours in His fellowship, then shall we not desire to depart from His presence.
Yet now dear Sister/brother I urge you to pray and make an appointment with God daily and see how this new year for you would truly be full of strength and hope and you would experience the wonderful wonders of God in your life.
I guarantee you that with a daily habit of prayer you will have much more to praise God for at the end of this blessed New Year.
May this come true for you this blessed year.....
"He who has learned to pray has learned the greatest secret of a holy and happy life." William Law
