Same Old Battle
Addicted to what causes pain
I'm helpless without You,
I'm sinking 'neath the towering waves,
Lord, what am I to do?
I'm much too tired to fight again,
I have no strength at all,
And so I ask You once again
To hear me when I call.
I listen to the whispers
That say I'll never win,
It seems so hopeless and I'm weak
And so I just give in.
Convince me that You love me,
To put my trust in You,
For I alone can't do the things
That only You can do.
I've climbed this same old mountain
So many times before,
Without Your help I'll fall again,
Help me to climb no more.
Remove the mountain in my life,
Bring vict'ry once for all,
For, Lord, if You don't do the job
It won't get done at all.
"I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me--I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me, (that is, I am self-sufficient in Christ's sufficiency)." Philippians 4:13 (Amplified)

The battle against pain and the stress of being over tired due to disease and illness is deliberating. But, rest assured my friend He is liberating.
Your poem is certainly a timely piece. I can sense the fatigue and readiness perhaps to give in to the "after the holiday blues"? Me too! Nicely written and draws the reader into your perspective.
