She slowly began to eat as she studied her captor in front of her. He was short, pudgy, wore glasses and she could tell he was an introvert.
As she kept eating the stew, he sat at the end of the bed in the wicker chair and drank from a bottled water. " I figured your father would go back to the place of the crime, so I put a ransom note there".
" He will figure you out from your handwriting" she said as she clinked her spoon against a now empty bowl.
" No! he won't" he replied loudly as he stood up and took away the tray and the bowl. " I cut out the letters from magazines to write out the ransom note.".
He put the heavy rope back around her hand.
" My father will find me" she said with hope in her eyes. " He will".
He took the tray and walked away.
