Young face is wet from tears so real they sing
A song so sad, King Kong, would wipe his eyes
A tune so blue, Great Whites, would let you live
All caused by spouse’s cold and calloused lies
Her life was poor but love kept her afloat
She woke each morn, eyes-set, on pleasing him
A breakfast warm, pancakes, with syrup moat
Lips humming tunes of all the brightest hymns
He broke her heart like rock shattering glass
The light she lived, exploded, into night
Future she hoped, imploded, into gas
Her eyelids slashed by cold December light
But in her grief she heard Jesus whisper
Spring shall melt the shards of your winter
If you died today, are you absolutely certain that you would go to heaven? You can be! TRUST JESUS NOW
