The mother cradles her baby
In her arms as she croons softly
While the moonlight gleams
Through the window panes
From a dream to another dream
The baby sleeps thru, with a moonlit beam
Shining upon the rosy cheeks
And the mother kisses the tiny hands
She hums a melody that is fair
The rocker squeaks on the floor
While her precious cherub is dreaming
From the window, the stars above twinkling
The silvery path of the moon flow
A perfect symphony of love aglow
On a Christmas Eve,
The mother cradling her child in peace
