Lord, help me to love myself
As You most certainly love me.
Help me to see the person
You lovingly created me to be.
How dare I stand here while
I denounce myself and squirm.
When I look into a mirror,
Let my reflection wholly affirm.
The person that You produced,
Is fashioned only in Your image.
Lord, help me assmilate this
Reality with dignity and courage.
Keep the enemy from lying
So convincingly to my face.
Fill me up completely Lord,
With all of Your loving grace.
I’m made only in Your image,
When I condemn myself,
Lord, I am, also condemning you.
That I will reject today,
as scripture tells me this is true.
For I do love You most assuredly.
Once more I look into the
Mirror, seeing only the face of Thee.

This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day when God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. Genesis 5:1
As a young girl I lacked self-confidence. Many reasons can be attributed to my inability to view myself as worthy, so many in fact I will not elaborate at this time.
Not until I was born again, did I understand what my opinion of myself reflected: a lack of trust in the Lord. Scripture says I am made in His likeness, therefore whether I am stunningly beautiful or modestly mediocre I am still a reflection of my God. Now I hold my head up high and revel in speculation and knowledge that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. I am just as the great Designer intended. I am His creation and He made me in His image, therefore I am lovely. By the way, so are you.
