I'm a poet, and I know it.
Yes, I'm unafraid to show it.
God gave this talent unto me.
The best at it, I aim to be.
I'm a hand God uses to write.
His words call to me–day or night.
From my pencil or pen, they flow.
They come like a whirlwind or slow.
By God's Spirit, I use my gift.
With inspired verse, I uplift.
I share His grace with rhyme,
Even when I don't earn a dime.
I love what I do–that's no lie.
It will be my task 'til I die.
God chose me to be a poet.
To go forth, to Him I owe it.
